'The Water Gatherers'

 

The Water Gatherer's align with the resources provided by nature. When nature becomes unbalanced, it regains its' stability as a natural flowing force of energy by which it is created. 

This year's project beginning in June, was covered in smoke from numerous forest fires throughout Canada. The smoke became so thick that people stayed indoors, filtering air to breathe. The images with smoke were on numerous days when nobody was upon site. 

 

Water has significant cultural importance to Indigenous communities in Canada & throughout the world. For Indigenous peoples, water is a living thing, a spiritual entity with “life-giving” energy, which comes with certain duties and responsibilities to ensure that it is respected, protected, and nurtured.
