The Legend of Turtle Island 

The focus of this collection refers to "Creation Story" as told by the First Nations of North America.

In the Algonquin-Ojibwe-Anishinaabe oral traditions, handed down generation to generation, tells the story of  how  the earth began, with a turtle carrrying the earth on it's back, rising from the sea after a great flood.

 The turtle survived the flood, and the earth on its' back grew into "Turtle Island," which refers to the configuration of the North American continent, and the beginning of a new world.
